Impacted wisdom teeth are a common problem for almost all of us. They are like a ticking time bomb that can cause pain and discomfort at any given time. If yours are starting to become painful, or you feel like they are trapping food, come and get them looked at by one of our friendly dentists.
A Gentle Approach to Wisdom Teeth Removal
No Knees On Chests. Promise.
Our dentists use gentle, modern techniques designed to reduce trauma to soft tissue and bone. Because of that care — combined with precise planning and experienced hands — most patients experience minimal swelling and less post‑op discomfort compared with older, more invasive approaches. We’ll also give clear aftercare instructions and follow up to keep recovery on track.

Sedation Options
Sedation And Comfort Options
Most wisdom teeth can be removed under local anaesthetic, which numbs the area completely while you stay awake. If you are worried about the pain, here is what the procedure actually feels like.
If you are anxious, or your teeth are more complicated, we currently offer oral sedation (sedative tablets taken before the procedure) or Nitrous Oxide sedation (happy gas). We will discuss your options at your consultation and help you choose what is most suitable for you.
Whatever option you choose, local anaesthetic will be used to numb the area and help keep you comfortable during the procedure. If you are nervous, let us know when you book so we can allow extra time to support you.
Do you need all four wisdom teeth out?
Not always. Some people have wisdom teeth that come through straight, with enough room and no pain, and those can often be left alone.
We usually recommend removal when a tooth is impacted, when it is pushing against the tooth in front, when it keeps getting infected, or when it sits so far back that it cannot be cleaned properly.
If we do recommend taking all four, it is normally because doing them in one appointment means one recovery instead of two. We go through how we decide whether all four need to come out in more detail. An x-ray and an examination is the only way to know. We will tell you honestly if yours can stay.
What wisdom teeth removal costs at Chomp Dental
Wisdom teeth removal at Chomp Dental starts from $1,900 for all four. What you pay depends on how many teeth are being removed, how they are sitting, and whether you choose sedation.
We give you a written quote after your consultation and before you book the procedure, so you know the figure in advance. Payment plans are available if you would rather spread the cost.
How long recovery takes
Most people take two to three days off and are back to normal within a week.
The first 24 hours matter most: rest, cold packs, soft food and no rinsing. Swelling usually peaks around day two and settles from there. We send you home with written aftercare and a number to call if anything worries you.
If your work is physical, or you play sport, allow a full week before going back to it.
Health fund cover for wisdom teeth removal
Most private health funds with extras cover pay a portion of wisdom teeth removal, and some cover part of the sedation as well. Bring your card and we will claim on the spot so you only pay the gap.
