Straighten your teeth without the whole room knowing about it. We offer three clear aligner options at Chomp Dental, including our own Chomp Aligners, designed and made right here in our Seven Hills clinic.
Treatment starts from $3,000 for one arch. Book a consultation and we will tell you honestly which option suits your teeth, or whether aligners suit them at all.
Compare your clear aligner options
There is no single best clear aligner. There is the one that suits your teeth, your timeframe and your budget. Here is how the three we offer compare.
| Option | Best for | One arch (upper/lower) | Both arches | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chomp Aligners (in-house) | Mild to moderate crowding or spacing | $3,000 | $5,400 | 6-9 months |
| Spark | More complex movement, still near invisible | $4,000 | *$6,500 | 12-24 months |
| Invisalign | Complex cases, the best known brand | $5,000 | *$7,500 | 12-24 months |
| Damon Braces | Cases aligners cannot treat | $4,000 | $6,500 | 12-24 months |
*Indicative pricing for most cases, however, may be more for especially complex case.
Clear aligners do not suit every case. If your teeth need more movement than an aligner can deliver, we will say so at your consultation rather than start treatment that cannot finish the job.
Chomp Aligners, made in our Brisbane clinic
Chomp Aligners are our own clear aligners. We design them and make them in our clinic rather than sending your scans to an overseas manufacturer, and that is the entire reason they cost less. You are paying for the treatment, not for a global brand name and the marketing budget behind it.
What Chomp Aligners treat
Mild to moderate crowding and spacing. Think teeth that have drifted over the years, a bit of overlap at the front, or gaps you have never been happy with. If that is your situation, Chomp Aligners will very likely do the job.
Why they cost less than the big brands
No licensing fees paid to an aligner company overseas, and no brand premium. In plain numbers, $5,400 for both arches against $6,500 and up for the better known names. Same approach, same 3D scanning, made closer to home.
When we recommend something else
Chomp Aligners are not a replacement for every treatment. If your case involves significant rotation, bite correction or teeth that need to move a long way, we will point you to Spark, Invisalign or braces instead. You will get that advice at the consultation, before you have spent anything.
Spark and Invisalign
We are not an in-house only practice. If another aligner will do a better job on your teeth, we would rather use it than talk you into ours.
Spark Aligners
A premium clear aligner that handles more complex movement while staying close to invisible. Spark starts from $4,000 for one arch and $6,500 for both. We use it for cases that sit beyond what Chomp Aligners can treat but still do not call for braces.
Invisalign
The best known clear aligner brand, and the one most people have heard of before they walk in. It handles complex cases well, and it costs more accordingly, from $7,500 . If you have come in specifically for Invisalign, we are happy to talk you through it.
Clear aligners or braces, which is right for you
This is the question most people are actually weighing up, so here is the honest version. We offer both, so we have no reason to push you either way.
Aligners win on day to day life. They come out when you eat, so nothing is off the menu, and most people will not notice you are wearing them. They suit adults and working professionals who do not want a mouth full of metal in meetings.
Braces win on capability and consistency. They handle movement aligners cannot, and because they are fixed in place they keep working whether you are disciplined or not. Aligners only move teeth while they are actually in your mouth, so if you are likely to leave them out, braces will get you a better result.
We offer Damon Braces for cases that need them. At your consultation we scan your teeth and tell you which of the two will genuinely work, rather than which one we would prefer to sell.
What clear aligner treatment is like, start to finish
Your consultation and 3D scan
We look at your teeth, your gums and your bite, and take a 3D scan. No moulds, no gagging on a tray of putty. This appointment is where we tell you whether aligners suit you and which option we would recommend.
Seeing your treatment plan
Using the scan, we map out how your teeth will move and roughly how long it will take. You see the projected result before you commit to anything, along with a full quote.
Wearing your aligners day to day
Twenty two hours a day, out for meals, out for anything other than water, and out while you brush. You move to the next tray on the schedule we give you. Expect pressure or tightness for a day or two after each change. That is the aligner working.
Check-ins along the way
We see you periodically through treatment to check your teeth are tracking the way the plan said they would, and to sort out anything that is not sitting right.
Retainers once you finish
Teeth drift back towards where they started if nothing holds them, so a retainer is what protects the result you just paid for. We offer fixed wires and removable retainers and they are included in the total price.
What clear aligners cost at Chomp Dental
What your quote includes
Chomp Aligners from $3,000 for one arch and $5,400 for both. Spark from $4,000 and $6,500. Your quote covers the scan, your treatment plan, your aligners and your check-ins through treatment. We quote the full figure upfront. No surprises partway through.
Health fund rebates
Most private health funds with orthodontic extras pay a portion of clear aligner treatment. How much depends on your fund, your level of cover and how much of your annual limit you have already used. We check your cover and show you the total, the likely rebate and what you would actually be left paying.
Interest free payment plans
Any health fund rebate comes off first, and the remainder can go on an interest free in-house payment plan spread across your treatment. Payments can be made with Afterpay and Denticare if preferred.
