What is included in a check up and clean
A new patient check up at Chomp Dental is $249 and takes 60 minutes.
It includes a comprehensive examination of your mouth and gums, a 3D computerised scan of your teeth, a full mouth OPG X ray and bitewing X rays, tailored oral hygiene advice, scaling and polishing, and fluoride treatment.
If we find something that needs attention, we will show you and explain your options and the costs before any further treatment is booked. Nothing proceeds without your agreement.
How much a check up and clean costs
$249 for the appointment described above.
Most private health funds with extras cover a portion, and many cover it in full. Bring your card and we will claim on the spot so you only pay the gap, if there is one.
If you do not have health cover, the $249 is the full price and there is nothing added on afterwards.
Using your health fund
We accept all major health funds and claim on the spot using HICAPS, so you pay only the difference rather than claiming it back yourself. If this is your first visit with us, then there is no out-of-pocket cost.
Please bring your health fund card, or digital card on the mobile app, and we can tell you what is covered before we start. If you are not sure what your policy includes, call us with your fund details and we will check it for you.
How long the appointment takes
Allow 60 minutes for a new patient check up.

How often you should come in
Every six months suits most people.
If you have gum disease, smoke, or have had a lot of dental work, we may suggest every three or four months for a while. We will tell you at the appointment what makes sense for you, and send a reminder when you are due.
